No visit to the Upper West Side is complete without a trip to the beautiful Central Park. Separating Upper West Side from Upper East Side, this 843 acre park is a magnificent oasis surrounded by beautiful trees, and lush, green grass. Many movies have been filmed here, and there are always fun activities to find in the area.
Lincoln Center
The Lincoln Center for Performing Arts is another stop you will want to make. Twelve of the world's most prominent groups are located inside this center, which sits on 16.3 acres of land. Those groups include the New York City Ballet, the New York City Opera, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Historical Sites in Upper West Side
Upper West Side is rich in history, and has an assortment of historical sites located within the area. The New York Public Library is one of those places - its building dates back to 1895.
The Belvedere Castle is another historical site that you simply must visit. The Belvedere Castle was built in 1869 and sits inside Central Park as an observation room. Exhibits are also available. Visitors to the Belvedere Castle will be delighted in the beauty of this building, both inside and out.
The Jewish Museum is one of New York City's oldest buildings. It represents Jewish culture, and was founded in 1804. Inside of the museum you will find art, photography, exhibits, and much more.
