Markham is a small town located in the Greater Toronto Area. It is the fastest growing town in Canada, with just over 261,000 people residing here. Markham first became a township in 1793. Mennonites were the largest settlers to the area. Today Markham is still composed of its 19th Century architecture in each of its more than 50 communities. Climate in Markham is the same as the climate in Toronto. An international airport and public rail system are available to get around town, however, many traveler's choose the convenience of a rental car.
