First of all I had got wrong instructions from where they were picking me from the airport. I had to pay 30$ to the cab to go to rental car place. We got a horrible old Nissan kicks car that was
making noise whole time. We were told to buy toll pass mandatory but we understood it was not needed after our rental ended which was 20$ a day additional.
Overall my experience with this rental company is zero and will not recommend any one.
The car has over 80,000 miles, damage all over, the front wheels and steering wheel shimmy while driving, the USB port is damaged.
Maybe the worse car I have ever rented.
I hope they replace it today with a better, safer vehicle.
For over 20 years I have always rented from Andy\'s at Seven Mile Beach when I visit Grand Cayman. On this visit I reserved a compact car online, got a competitive price and a satisfactory car. The staff are always courteous. Andy\'s is a local company with years of experience. Highly recommend.
I did not receive the booking information/where to pick up the rental car. It never arrived prior to me getting to the car lot. No one was in the lobby. I tried calling, there was no answer. I called more, and then I got a text to stop calling. I traveled and was expecting what I reserved. The agent only communicated through texts. Again, I just wanted what I reserved (and paid for) without a hassle, and with customer service. Very disappointed.
Waited over 2 hrs for the airport shuttle. Tried calling and they put me on hold for 20 minutes and then said it was 10 min away. It never showed, so paid for a cab to the address on my receipt. That was an old or fake address, because it didn\'t exist once we got there. Tried calling again but no one would answer. Ended up renting from another agency on the same street. Tried calling for a refund a couple days later. They put me on hold for 40 minutes and then hung up. Never again . . .
They don\'t have staff, only chatbots and shuttles so these questions are hard to answer. I know what I was quoted and that they took a deposit, but don\'t know for sure what the final total was until my deposit is returned. (for Q2) They have hundreds of poor reviews, many, many more than positive reviews online. I was a little scared to rent from them. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth though. WAY too many attempts to upsell me, and that is annoying.
NEVER EVER rent from this company They canceled..30 minutes before pick up...You call..& it goes to voice mail....called both numbers & it disconnects
I will tell everyone never to rent from this company....Horrible experience...what nerve sending me a survey...
My only concern is that year after year the 9 passenger vehicles I rent are in poor to dangerous condition due to wipers not working, tires in need of constant air, some door handles(interior and exterior) missing, general rough condition of interior, lack of resolution to these issues. Although the pricing is cheaper than most this is the conditions you need to accept.
Location of car absolutely terrible. Street address was half mile from actual location. Had to walk miles, literally, at night, and talk with customer service many times, to find car. Almost abandoned search. Absolutely unforgivable!
The first van was very old and not working properly. The ram didn\'t deploy and when I took my hand and tried to pull it out it deployed very rapidly and almost crushed my hand. It is still very bruised, and a cut is recovering. I do have pictures and hopefully Wally Park has video cameras. Don\'t worry I have no plans to sue and would not have said anything if you had not asked. The second van they sent me was also very old, but it got me where I needed to go.
Very hard and time consuming to get to counter. Representative was rude and had given away my car. Claimed we said we would be there at 1 - that was the time the plane landed. Tried to call several times, never got a human. Instructions to get to rental car location were wrong. Never ever rent from this company
This was one of the worst experiences i have ever had. We had reserved a vehicle and cost was to be $288.00 us. when we got there we were told that we had to take the insurance because they didn\'t honor Canadian insurance policies so it didn\'t matter that we had a rider on our current policy to cover rental cars. This would also be a problem for US residents since there were only 6 companies approx that they would honor. What was to be $288.00 us turned out to be $1139.00 us we had no option
We never picked up from Fort Lauderdale airport after 7 calls and waiting over an hour. This company is a scam . You get what you pay for, I guess- we ended up with Alamo. Shame on you, Miami life card, if you really are a business, shame on you
Easy pickup and drop off. Went over car before I left to point out scratches etc. This was great and made me feel like they are trusworthy and not looking for extra charges.
We requested a 12 passenger van because we had lots of golf clubs. The 15 passenger van was difficult to use because we had to stack golf clubs in a row of seats.
I wouldn\'t rent from this company again unless my vehicle request was guaranteed.
Their customer service was very poor. I paid online and they found every single at imaginable to charge me more money. They made up a case that claimed I damaged the car. Very horrible experience
I asked for a car with car play and did not get it.
Also the tank was not full when I picked it up. It was about 3/4. How do you return it to that mark when you are refilling? You can’t especially in no with attendant pumping gas.
I was unable to access the car. Agreement stated to collected car at George Bush Airport Rental Center but this was untrue as it is offsite rental agency. Stride did not provide me with a contact number and Airport authorities told me there was a stride shuttle car in the visitor parking lot. After waiting for the shuttle for an hour I contacted a Stride number on the internet and a Stride employee informed me that they could not help me and could not cancel the car. I took a taxi to my hotel.
When I arrived, no one was available to talk to. I followed protocol and managed everything electronically. Finally, a representative came and gave me the keys to the car. As soon as I got in the car, I was hit with an overwhelmingly strong pot smoke odor. Due to my schedule, I didn\'t have time to request a different vehicle. I had to get to my client. I was then sent a text stating there would be a late return fee. I\'m requesting a refund due to the odor and poor customer service!
Great company and great customer service. I would definitely be renting from Jimmy at Leisure Car Rental the next time I am in Sint Maarten and have already recommended him to my friends and family. Great stress free experience which you may not get from the big rental companies. Jimmy and his team are really nice people, as well. Keep it up!
I would not recommend them. The booking said the vehicle pick up was in the terminal. That plus the price was why we chose the company. No counter in the terminal and no instructions on where to pick up the car. We finally found shuttle then a long wait in line to get vehicle. After a lot of upselling our rental ended up being $348 instead of the $108 we were quoted. Vehicle was adequate but horn didn\'t work, seat was stained and windshield wipers also didn\'t work. I won\'t use them again.
Always has been a good experience. If there were additional staff at the desk, that would help us start our vacation quicker. Fully understand staffing issues and cost.
