Reservation was confirmed online and I was on my way to pick up the vehicle when I got the call to tell me that in fact no vehicle was available. SCAM???

days after i rented they called to tell
me no cars were available that
the military had them all. This call was after my ability to cancel
my remote lodging reservations. It put
me in a bind, no car and non-refundable lodging.

At the airport pick up counter was closed. No answer on the telephone, just answering machine. Next morning I reached an agent on the phone. She told me that reservation was cancelled due a lack of available cars. Very bad behavior of Alaska 4x4 rentals not to inform me about the cancellation.
