All was as expected
As it worked out, I had to cancel this reservation to get a more-suitable vehicle. However, I was very happy that this staff was able to help me find what I needed, even though it wasn't with AKCarRental. I've rented from AKCarRental in the past and will continue to do so, but this time I needed something they didn't have. My experience with the other vendor was absolutely horrific and will assure that I will never try them again. I'll continue to call on AKCarRental. Thanks!
Great service, shuttle was super convenient.
Charged $3 for additional Driver. I asked if I could add an additional driver, he stated "You can add as many as you want." He said nothing at that time about an additional charge. When I was checking out I asked why the amount was different then what I had on my reservation, He said "That was for the additional driver you added." Also when I asked where the restroom was, "That is for employees only." Whay do they not allow paying customers to relieve them selves??

I talked with a rep while making the reservations for a six person vehicle. When picking up the vehicle they tried to give me a four person car. Took them a little bit and they found a van. The van had a squeaky door that squeaked the entire time we drove the car. The head rest in the back kept falling down and hitting the person sitting in the seat. The one of the sliding door kept getting stuck when trying to close it. The carpet in the back of the van was duck taped to the floor.
The email confirmation should be more detailed. I wasn't aware that there was a location at the airport. I also wasn't aware that there was a courtesy shuttle available. The address on my email confirmation was the other location (not the airport). I took the ferry over and paid for a cab. Once I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I was told that I could have picked up my vehicle at the airport and I was made aware of the courtesy shuttle. Of course, I used the shuttle on the return.
There was only 1 glitch. We’d requested a toddler car seat which was not in the car. I returned to ask about that, the attendant looked around, and handed me a car seat to carry to the car. My daughter and I struggled to install it for over 45 minutes, missing 3 ferries across to Ketchikan, starting our visit off on the wrong foot. When mentioning it to the gentleman while returning the car, there was no indication of an apology or intention to improve that process in the future for others.
