When I arrived they had no record of the rental even though I had a confirmation. So no worries won't do business with either going forward. Worst experience ever!
when I arrived to Cancun airport the office told me your reservation and name in the list but we don't have car !!!
and the employee told me their is one pay more than your reservation and we rent the car !!!!!!
The car was rented for 3 months, during which time the office from which we rented was apparently closed. We were not notified of it's closing and when we came to return the car, per the contract, there was a sign on the door stating that the office was perminently closed. No instructions were given on what to do with the car given the circumstances. Phone calls only told us to email questions. Strange that we were not contacted about the closing and provided new return information.
the price quoted was finally + insurance + insurance + something, so finally instead 695 USD it was 1300 USD. Without full insurance they want 7000 USD deposit. So finally we rented the car in AVIS.
Brakes weren't working and when we told the guy he said it cost to much to fix. Wipers weren't working for the rain! The person that help me out wanted me to get things we didn't need. I wasn't picked up in the airport until I had to call. The good thing was when we turn in the vehicle that the guy was nice and fas,t that was the best part of the whole service.

This is one of the worst companies there is in car rental. I reserved 60 days prior to our arrival. I reconfirmed one week before, then 3 days before arrival. When we arrived, there was a man with a sign with my name on it. Then, he took 30 minutes to tell us that there where no cars available. All this, while it was raining really hard. I have no idea how this company does business. They ruined our vacation. I hope my comments help other people to choose another comany other than this one.
I had reserved an automatic mid-size car for the Good Friday long weekend at Cancun airport location. When I came out of the airport, a representative from America car rental was waiting outside. After beating around the bush for 30 mins he told us that there are no automatic cars available at his office and suggested us to go with another car rental company. Bad experience. Won't recommend to anyone in future.
We've rented cars 3 times in Mexico, first with America, second with another then came back to America but we will never use them again after our latest experience. Only one guy was helpful because I gave him some cash but the rest were absolute jerks to put it nicely. They gave us the worst possible cars they could find on the lot. Horrible customer service!
Generally speaking the problem with the company was slow service and distance from the airport - the advertised location of rental was that the car would be picked up at the airport - not the case. I waited for 20 minutes while the ride arrived and then was taken to an off site location where I waited about 30 minutes before being acknowledged. In fact I was at the counter and a second person came in - the attendant ignored me and began assisting the second individual.
