I did not found the counter staff overly polite. Many people come through Toronto from many different cultures, and sometimes it is difficult to remember that what one society views as acceptable is considered rude by another. By and large Canadians tend to value politeness, and I certainly do. It would be worthwhile for staff to have cross-cultural training so that they can be viewed as courteous to all that come through the door.

although i had a rental agreemeen # when i got ton toronto and went to viscount station expecting a ride to the car lot i was told transcanada had no record of the rental and there were no cars available . phoned payless rentals who fixed me up for a good rate and picked me up and delivered me back to the airport
i was totally happy with the service but only issue was the waiting period as there was only one person at the front desk, rest everything was superb. Also my booking on internet said I have unlimited kilometers but that was also not right. I had to pay for the extra kilometers though I used only 450 kms.
it appears that the reservation numbers made via web site are not recognized at the rental agency at the Airport dr. my first rental for a minivan on dec 24 was not honored and i had to take a standard car insted of ordered minivan, but at the price of minivan. my wait time was over 90 mins. as no cars were availaable at my checkin. my second rental on Jan 06, was similar. the clerk was not able to find my reservation numer, and despite having an email with the reservation numer i had to argue.
It took a very long time to get a shuttle free m the airport.
They did not have a record of our reservation . Thankfully we had a record.
Persons behind the counter were not friendly.
Did not have the veichle I requested and did not notify me, i had seven people and booked a mini van then they wanted to give 2 cars but i could not book it with my card cause it did not have the same name as the licence of the other driver then I did not get my rental cause my credit card did not have lifted numbers on it. Ended up with no car for 3 days because of holidays other places were all booked or closed. Very poor service. Do not recomend anyone to use this company
Horrible guest service.
The cost is not transparent and did not mention that you need to get your own basic insurance. This is very deceiving to quote a price without the basic insurance as it is required when you rent a car. a bounch of additional cost that didnt provide explaination on.
The experience was not bad. Reading the negative comments online, I was a bit scared, but I didn't have any bad experience.it was just about average experience.
