Price was high
We'd not reserved a car for our month-long stay because quoted prices at all agencies weeks earlier had been astronomically high. We made do without a car, but we had no choice for one day. We were amazed that the daily rate had dropped to only NINE DOLLARS, plus the usual fees and taxes. We got the car for two days for a total of $33 and change. And, because of the free shuttle to the airport, we saved a $20 cab ride. So, in effect, we had the car for two days for a net outlay of $13.
