The rental was more expensive than we had been told by friends in PR, but it sounded like all car rentals (from all agencies) were expensive due to labor/vehicle shortages and Covid complications, so we rolled with the punches. We hope prices will go down the next time we visit, and we'll check Charlie's again for sure.
Charlie's website answered all my questions about renting a vehicle in Puerto Rico and even listed the appropriate questions to ask my insurance company and credit card company which saved me hundreds of $$. They were really great. My first good experience in car rentals! Kudos Charlie!!
I always have a good experience at Charlie Car Rental. The cars that I have rented are reliable and good.
The wait time for pick up and drop off could improve greatly. The car rental we received was not fully cleaned. There was trash under the seat and the car windows were so dirty it was hard to see out of them.
The pick up driver was helpful and friendly. The staff was great, however, the 1st vehicle looked too damaged and tires seemed low on the thread so we asked for an exchange and they obliged with a better vehicle. Tires needed air and front right tire wasn't able to fill with air. The price was honored and all and all we had a great experience.
