Office was locked when I arrived. Someone met up with me a couple mins after my arrival (maybe saw me thru cameras?). He explained everything & gave me the keys & description of the car for me to find in the lot (not difficult to locate). He drove off by the time I walked to the car, got inside & turned it on. The interior of the vehicle was disgusting. Very dirty. Steering wheel had gooey sticky stuff on it. The dash & doors covered in dust and liquid spills that were not wiped. Awful!
I have been renting from here for the past 4 years and I have never had a problem:)
We had two vehicles assigned - the first one smelled of cigarettes and the second one was filthy and stained. The 3rd one was finally cleaned and new.
I have been using Charlie Car Rental (Isla Verde Location) for the last 5 years. Always a great experience. Recommended it to family and friends whom have also experience the same great service.
Our only issue was that we didn’t recognize the shuttle when we were waiting for pickup. It just says “ACE” over the front of the shuttle and we had no idea it was Charlie’s, so called the office and they said that the shuttle was at the airport for pick up. When we walked down beside the shuttle, we saw the Charlie’s. Would’ve saved some angst had we known what to look for ahead of time.
My 80 year old parents were left in the airport for over two hours and didn't get a car. When I spoke to a staff member, they were unpleasant and replied 'Well they just have to wait." My had a stranger in the airport take them to their destination. My parents noticed that if you gave the staff cash 'tips' they would get clients cars faster. They finally got a car the following day at a different location.
