Upon return we were charged a $35 cleaning fee. Granted, the car was dirty, but we had it for 5 weeks. At least it should be made clear up front in what condition the car is expected at the return. We could have done the cleaning (mostly sand) in 10min ourselves.
Excellent value.
Service was good, but the car I rented was POORLY maintinaed. This was inexcusable. Wiper blades needed to be replaced, lever that unlatched gas tank cover did not work and "Check Engine" light came on during my rental. When -- in the middle of MY vacation -- I had to bring the car back to exchange it for another car, they hassled me about the tank not being topped off. This damned near drove me over the top in anger! Totally Unacceptable!

I had rented from Charlies Car Rental many years ago; but it wasn't until recently that I ran across their online reservations. If you are looking for a car rental company which gives personal service, I recommend you call them. Service and cars are great.
I rent from Charlie's Car Rental and usually am helped at the check out counter by a wonderfully helpful and professional person named Venus. She is a pleasure to deal with and is a model of efficiency and courtesy.
I loved the service.
My only worry is the sticker in the bumpers from Charlie rental.
