We have used Charlie before and it went well. We had read reviews from others about issues, but went with our previous experience. This time they didn't have the jeep we rented, just a Mustang. We needed the jeep to have access to the beaches. Our trip had to be modified because of the car we were given. I was told I was given a discount, but on further inspection, it was actually the same rate I was originally quoted. I'll stick with a more reputable company in the future.

Have rented many times from Charlie over the years---very good experience and good value for the money. For this rental, the price was very fair for the car; our only issue was for some reason the passenger side seat sat extra low and there was no where to make any adjustments so it felt that my wife was sitting on the ground of the car---there was also a cigarette burn mark in the passenger side seat. We loved the free shuttle to the airport---which was very nice.

Most rental car companies in San Juan have terrible reviews - hidden fees and charges, being blamed for pre-existing damage, long waits for pickup and check out, etc. I had rented from Charlie Car before, so I felt confident that my experience would be ok, even though their price was higher than other rental car companies. The van driver was great and very helpful. I wish the check out and check in process were faster.

Charlie Car rental is one of the cheapest car rental places in Puerto Rico. Keep it that way.
