I've rented for the last 5 years from Charlies and have been very pleased with the service.
Saw recommendations on a Visit Peurto Rico web site. It proved to be an excellent experience and went without a hitch. Would definitely do it again and recommend to others.
We arrived in Aguadilla at 3:30am with two very tired small children. I called for the shuttle and the representative told me they were already outside waiting for me. That was awesome! Then we returned the car to San Juan where I was quickly courteously checked out and was given a quick ride to the airport by shuttle. This was the best car rental experience thus far.
Shuttle pickup from the Cruise Ship location was excellent (location across the street from the pier). However, there was only one representative at the Charile Car Rental office. Although she did an outstanding job servicing her customers, she was overwhelmed by the number of customers picking up rental cars. Dropping off the rental car was simple - the rental office was conveniently located near the airport with Shuttle service provided for customers.

rented vehicle at 3 am could not inspect the vehicle, too dark, was handed a sheet that the vehicle had been inspected, I did not aproved this but had no choice but to take the car, in addition I could not enjoy the vehicle must of the time was parked, because the vehicle had no registration and after several calls to the agency for them to fax me one and never did so I stop calling.

The Aguadilla PR staff are the best and friendliest crew. I always rent from them and when friends visit I always suggest them to Charlie car rental,
The only thing is when returning the vehicle, it wasn't clear on 1) where to park and 2) where to go. There should be a separate line for people returning vehicles or else having to wait along with the people requesting vehicles is too hectic.
The insurance quotes are ridiculuous....it is the first time that I rent a vehicle and have to pay for BLI extra...doesn't make sense...seeing, that I paid around 20 $ for the vehicle but for all the insurances twice as much...in that case it doesn't make sense for me anymore to rent with you guys. That matches my company-rates with enterprise or Avis.
