I showed up to pick up my van on a Sunday morning and it was not available!!! The agent was nice and pleasant but could do NOTHING for me! It was so very frustrating because I had a group of people waiting for me to pick them up.
I DID NOT get my rental. I had to go to another company and pay a fortune at the last minute!
It was terrible terrible terrible and expensive!
They don't shuttle to the airport. Vehicle pickup and drop-off from Laguardia or JFK is in Flushing or maybe at another location on Pennsylvania Ave, Brooklyn. A cab or car service will cost you $20-30. So you can add $60 to rental price. Nice people though. It may be a family business. They were helpful and courteous. They had the agreed upon vehicle and didn't try to jack up the rate. The vehicle was in well-used condition.

It was great that we got a 8 seater car from Empire at the last minute.
The price that I saw online was raised by $30-$40 when I went in person, all the information I recieved online or over the phone was contradicted by the agent when I went to pick up the car.
They wrote me telling me that the car I booked wasn't available. There wasn't any available car actually.
I had severe problems with my schedule because of that.
I would never recommend this company. I had received a call confirming my reservation the day I had reserved. When I was already en route to Empire to pick up the rental, I received a call stating they had no cars in their entire fleet. An absolutely horrendous rental company that I would warn people to stay away from. You are better off paying a little extra and using Enterprise or one of the national rental companies. These guys were just plain awful.
The vehicle I rented first breakdown within the first 10 minutes of me picking it up and the second one which took
almost an hour to get there was not in a hundred percent working
condition.
The Empire Rental in Brooklyn did not receive the request I submitted online. When I attempted to retrieve the car I requested they had no knowledge of me requesting the car. It was the WORST experience I ever had renting a car. I would NEVER use Empire Rent A Car ever again.
