I have rented from Empress for 4 years. As in the past the people and service is great. My only issue this year was the car. The back seat had hole and the suspension felt and sounded like the wheels would fall off anytime. Time to check the the car out and consider retiring it from the fleet

Empress is one of the few car rental companies on St Martin that offers a beach chair, umbrella and cooler package for a reasonable price and that was the prime reason we continue renting from Empress. We have never waited more than 5 minutes for pickup from the airport or returning to the airport.

Our flight was 30 minutes late arriving in St. Maarten, and the card rental was closed. Luckily, the booth next door was open and we were able to rent the card from them for the month. Bad customer service!

No one at airport counter when we arrived but a nearby booth attendant told us to call using the booth phone which we did and someone arrived shorty thereafter. Car was good but passenger door handle came apart last day we were there. Otherwise everyone was friendly, helpful and nice. We have used three years in a row and likely will next year as well.

Vehicle had a broken plastic shield under grill that started dragging immediately after leaving facility. I had to work on it myself. Then we paid 25 dollars each day for full coverage and a break light lens was cracked from unknown source. We returned car and they informed me I would be contacted with cost to replace. Why did I pay 175 for full coverage insurance if it doesn't cover anything? Very dissatisfied with that experience.
