The car I got had a major mechanical problem, it was shacking at all speeds and terribly at regular highway speed. I called and was surprised that the agency knew about the problem from before, they didn't offer any help or remedy. Their rep simply said we don't have any other car for you. I didn't feel safe in the car at all and it was getting worse. I called again with no response, I sent an email and was ignored. This agency deliberately gave me a broken car, very bad business. Van smelled terrible. Called to report after pick up but no answer. Sent an email and did receive a voicemail 2 days later saying that no other vans were available and offered a 20% discount on a future rental. As we were staying at an expensive hotel in St Pete that had valet parking it was quite embarrassing to have a car that smelled so bad. While the service of drop off and pick up was great I would not rent again from this company if all their vehicles are like the one we had.
Agency reply:
Dear Paula, I sincerely apologize for your experience. The previous renter had smoked in the vehicle and due to availability we did not have another van available to swap out with you. We value your opinion and business. You should have received a 1 day credit back to your card. I can promise you this is not a common occurrence for us.
My confirmedvrecervation was revoked by the car rental company. I was informed that there was a computer problem and that the reservation violated their holiday rental policy. This was a totally disgraceful action. Imagine a company that can't be trusted to honor their commitments. I wonder what other surprises were in store on this rental. At least they save me the trip because at least they sent me an email before I arrived.

Dear Mr. Torres, What you submitted was a reservation request this does not confirm your reservation. Before a reservation is confirmed you would have been sent rental forms asking for insurance and payment information. I sincerely apologize for the confusion as we were sold out for your dates of travel. Unfortunately, our system does not update availability live to our website at this time, but we are working to implement this in the near future.
Van worked great -- we enjoyed our vacation and it was nice for my son to be able to sit up with everyone else and see where we were going. Thank you.
