I had a miserable experience with Maxx Car Rental and in fact have just sent them a Complaint Notice. The vehicle was in terrible shape, poor smell, stained seats and ceiling, non-operational A/C vents, broken front Grille, various other bumps and nicks, plus a window crack. But worst of all... the high beams did not operate and throughout the trip I received a Tire Sensor Pressure Fault. This was the BEST van they had available. They did not allow ,me to cancel the reservation.
They do not care what customer need and they are not willing to help customer
GOOD PART: The staff were courteous and very accomodating, which I greatly appreciated. I was even able to communicate with them outside of office hours (on a Sunday) when I really needed them.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD PART: The van itself was in terrible shape and in dire need of maintenance. The interior upholstery wasn't too clean, it had moderate alignment problems, and the brakes were shot. The van was barely roadworthy. For the price I paid, it wasn't really worth it.
Good Service
was expecting a newer, less worn vehicle but it worked fine and there were no issues.
The price I was given at the counter was ~30% higher than what I was quoted. Staff was unable to make even the slightest concession - even free KMs would have been a nice gesture.
Good value
We have rented 12 passenger vans from Maxx Car rental for years. Honest service. Pricing that is as low as can be without going in to the territory of the dishonest types at Toronto airport. I highly recommend Maxx Car Rental to all who need a rental car out of Toronto and have the time to go with an off-site rental.
