The check engine light was on and I was worried it would stop working at any moment.
I wish information about shuttle buses and other things would be more clear within the airport.
We rented in Ft. Lauderdale. The agency is not at the airport we waited ½ hour for a van. We waited ½ hour at the agency. We were told we needed to pay more than we thought. We received a car with severely worn tires. We got a flat 100 miles from the agency, and were told our only recourse was to return the vehicle. We were advised we would not be reimbursed if we repaired or replaced the flat tire. We paid out of our pocket to repair the tire.
The rental process went smoothly - the vehicle had a broken/disconnected rod in the trunk which made opening the trunk interesting but other than that everything was good.
The shuttle driver who picked us up was on his cell phone from the time he arrived at MCO to the time he dropped us off at the rental office. In the shuttle he had the cell phone in his hand and sometimes he had it in his lap and was looking down at it while the shuttle was moving. It was very concerning causing abrupt stops when traffic ahead of the shuttle slowed/stopped.
Paula in the rental office was excellent. She was knowledgeable, friendly and anticipated all of our questions.
This a rental nightmare:
No direct shuttle from airport to rental site - need to change to second shuttle in the rain
The agent was focused on selling me insurance
I declined as I am covered on my insurance & American Express ( never an issue world wide with other agencies)
He demanded to see my insurance card & said needed to see the declaration page which I was able to access fortunately.. as he said either I buy the insurance or forfeit the reservation
Then he made me authorize a $2500 c
Firstly, this agency isn’t based at the Sanford, FL airport, but they use the address which is misleading. They pick you up and drive you 15 minutes out of the airport to a small office. They did not have my car, tried to upsell me an SUV I didn’t want and tried to charge me $150 more than my quote and wanted a $350 deposit on top of that. When I stated I didn’t want an SUV and I had chosen an economy car and was quoted $215, I was told it was the only car available. Mind you I booked in F
