Very hard and time consuming to get to counter. Representative was rude and had given away my car. Claimed we said we would be there at 1 - that was the time the plane landed. Tried to call several times, never got a human. Instructions to get to rental car location were wrong. Never ever rent from this company
I was unable to access the car. Agreement stated to collected car at George Bush Airport Rental Center but this was untrue as it is offsite rental agency. Stride did not provide me with a contact number and Airport authorities told me there was a stride shuttle car in the visitor parking lot. After waiting for the shuttle for an hour I contacted a Stride number on the internet and a Stride employee informed me that they could not help me and could not cancel the car. I took a taxi to my hotel.
Avoid Stride Rental Car at TPA! They falsely claim to be on-site, canceled our reservation because our flight was slightly late, and had a rude staff member who offered no help. Their policies are out of the norm—requiring a physical copy of the insurance disclosure page. Another couple faced the same issue. We canceled and rented elsewhere. Miserable experience—I’ll never rent from them again and will make sure my friends and family don’t either. Stay away!
No clear instructions at the airport …… I had to call several times at the phones on the confirmation mail without anyone answering …….. then they called me ……… then long wait to be picked up following a you tube video with the instructions…. then more than 1.25 hours to get the car …… I mean 75 minutes …… ridiculous …..anyway not a good experience at all
Je me suis fais avoir sur toute la ligne , les prix sont exagéré tellement que je n’ai même prit ma location et j’ai fait affaire avec une autre compagnie. J’ai fait un dépôt qui ne pas été remboursé car sur le site on est pas capable de faire la demande. Pire location que j’ai eu et j’en ai fait des locations !!!! L’homme qui nous a décrit à notre arrivé était pas aidant du tout . Je vais régler ça en arrivant au Québec mais je ne recommande pas de louer des véhicul
It was a bait and switch. When we got to the rental car area we found out they were off site and we had to wait a half hour to get picked up and calling by phone was an hour wait. Finally when we got picked up and taken to their site they said we had to buy insurance at (the lowest rate) $35/day even though we had submitted our insurance company ahead of time and they confirmed our reservation. This increased out rate by 113%. We had them take us back to the airport and rented from Alamo rental.
I have rented from hertz, Avis, enterprise, etc in the past and have never been asked for my insurance policy declarations page. It took me 30 minutes and multiple phone calls to get it. This ate into my vacation and really irritated me.
Next, I was told that I had a $2,000 security deposit. Are yall nuts?? The reservation itself was $80, and you’re asking me for two grand? No. Then I was told that I could pay a flat $30 non refundable so that I could bring the 2k deposit down to $500. GAR
Horrible rental experience and will never rent from them nor would I ever recommend them. After waiting in line for over 20 minutes, I got to the counter and was advised my rate was going to more than double. I canceled my reservation and went to Hertz, which was a MUCH better rate and experience.
