I was taking a bunch of kids to a hockey game in wy from salt lake and needed a bigger car. When I went to pick the van up the guy told me not to worry about the light on the dash about tires because the tires aren’t factory which is why the light is on. Tire was flat the next day. I had to have it fixed. Also the van vibrated so badly I was worried it wasn’t safe to drive especially a bunch of other people’s children. The rental co did give my money back for the tire repair it was just a

Tread on all 4 tires was EXTREMELY low (have pics with a quarter). As I drove from Salt Lake down to Zion NP, I encountered quite a bit of snow on the freeway. I drive in the snow a lot (I live in Erie, PA), but I don't drive in the snow with low tread. I could tell the vehicle wasn't gripping as it should. Also the fluid was empty for the front windshield wipers. A name like "rugged" implied the vehicle is ready to handle anything. I felt like this one wasn't maintained. I was disappointed.
I had added a free ice chest to my reservation. I picked the vehicle up, but forgot that I had asked for that. It was not in the vehicle. I feel it should have been put in there since it was on my reservation.
The facility was off the airport requiring a shuttle. On return they sent us to a different place: a park n ride but the directions were inadequate sending us first to a closed park n ride before stumbling in the open one 30 minutes later which also required us to shuttle from there. Very confusing and inconvenient. Nearly missed our flight and chased us significant stress in time. Defiantly not worth any savings from renting from an on-airport vendor.
The car itself was barely adequate, old.

The vehicle I rented had 2 mechanical defects. The steering rack would bind, which led to some worrying moments. Also, one of the front hubs would not lock(this cleared up after a few miles of 4wd on a gravel road). I have an engineering background and was already 100s of miles away when these issues presented, so did not return for replacement. This was on a Jeep Rubicon. Otherwise, vehicle ran fine - just seems they need better maintenance / quality checks after each rental.
