Very good experience.
1) During the booking process, credit card information could not be taken on-line or via phone.
2) The customer service person arranging the return of the vehicle ('Joe S') did not know the details of my rental agreement and arranged for the pickup one day earlier than expected and tried to charge me for one more day. When I tried to explain to him his error, he would not listen and was rude and sarcastic. Very poor customer service! He is reason that I would not use your company again.

We take credit cards and all information pertaining to a van rental on the phone on a daily basis. There was a miscommunication (language) of when the vehicle was to be returned, but that was cleared up and there were no additional charges. The van was delivered and picked-up at the residence at no charge. The van was delivered earlier then the agreed reservation at the request of the renter to be able to leave early for their trip.
Overall I had a very positive experience with United Van Rentals. My only disappointment came from not knowing what vans I would be provided with at the beginning of my rental. Had I known, I would have communicated it to our team and it would not have been an issue at all. I would just recommend that agents be clear and upfront in the beginning to guarantee a positive all around experience. Mike and Louis did work hard to make it right!

The back half of the van was so hot the girls were complaining and wanted to get out. We were in 105+ weather and the AC unit was NOT sufficient to cool the van full of passengers. They were NOT comfortable and that seems ridiculous for over $1,000.
Agency reply:
If we were contacted during the rental and notified there was a problem after the rental, we could have possibly replaced the rental. The van was serviced after this return and the AC was in good working condition. This van had less than 17,000 miles at the time of this rental.
I was not told at time of rental that we would have to wait for shuttle. I ended up driving myself to pick it up. The van was in poor shape and had water stains on a lot of the seats. The insurance was overpriced and left me worried about small scratches and dents being extra. I had to drive myself back to the airport and park the van because there were no shuttle drivers even though I communicated ahead of time when I'd be coming.

I had requested an 8 passenger van and one was not available. A 15 passenger van was substituted for the same price and worked out great! The delivery and pick up went smoothly and on time! I would recommend United Van Rentals without hesitation!
