We have rented here in the past many times. Great service, just a bit upset I returned the van 12 hours before due & thought they would have deducted something.

The staff at the O'Hare office was extremely friendly and helpful. They provided me with all of the details I needed and got me in and out efficiently.
The staff were in no hurry to assist standing/waiting customers. The office seemed more of a friends and family get-together setting then a place of business. Initial van offered to me had visible physical damages to it, including passenger safety belt cuts, that when brought to staff attention appeared to be acceptable. Only after pointing out a fault in poor headlights and expressing concern for passenger's safety did the associate offer another vehicle. Good rental rates, older equipment.
I found all of the staff at AVR to be very friendly and helpful in handling my reservation, and in adjusting my original booking. This was the first time using AVR after finding a great online rate, and I will definitely keep them in mind the next time we need to rent a van.
Always been a good experience with AVR. Needed A 12 passenger van with a removable seats, and they still carry some Ford F series vans, the seats are not removeable in the new "Spinter" style Fords, so that was great. Vans always have a full tank when you pick them up. Yes - it had 150,000 miles on it but was kept up on maintenance and drove well.
Horrible. We made a reservation for a 7 passenger van at 3:30. Two hours ahead of departure time... they call to tell us they don't have any vans. I spoke to a lady on the phone and let her know how much of a bind it leaves us in because we had somewhere to be that night... she had an attitude, blamed the corporate store in LA saying it was their fault and she tried to tell them to shut down chicago's reservations but they wouldn't. She then said she'd transfer me, but hung up. Just awful.
The family rented had 76,000 miles on it more than would be expected of any late-model vehicles. It's transmission needed servicing which affected its performance, especially in the mountains.
The agent found the (almost) perfect van for us. We had several people going out of town and this oarticular ban had the perfect amount of space for 13 people to sit comfortably and all the luggage space we needed plus some.
The only thing lacking (which I should have noticed) was the lack of cruise control. 350+ miles is a long way without it.
Booked a minivan, but they were out so I got a 12 passenger van. A little bit inconvenient to drive, but it was ok.
