I had to call in many times to change times and drivers on my reservation. The staff was always professional and handled all my requests easily.

the universal phone service of reservations emailed me instructions for meeting the pickup van which were different AND TOOK WAY LONGER than the instructions used by the local company themselves. LACK OF CONSISTENCY in communication is bad service.
We waited an hour to be picked up.
When vehicle was picked up the gas tank was on "E" and the oil change light was on all the time. We were worried we would end up breaking down because of the light. The inside of the vehicle was not clean, there was a layer of dust on everything. My father had to clean the inside of the windows as there was a gross, nasty film on them.
The vehicle we were originally given in San Diego was badly damaged and had over 100K miles on it. We were told that was the only minivan available and we had to take it. But when the check engine light came on before we left the parking lot we insisted on them getting another vehicle. Almost an hour later we had one, and it had only 35K miles on it. We drove it for the week and it was great. The return process at SNA went smoothly. So, mixed reviews on our two vans.
I rented from AVR near the SJC airport. Tammy (the manager) and Chris (the head mechanic and also cheerful substitute driver) were both great! Tammy spotted some minor cosmetic flaws when inspecting the vehicle before pickup that I would have missed. Chris is obviously doing a terrific job maintaining their vehicles as my experience with a Dodge Caravan was absolutely flawless, even on the twisty CA 17 from San Jose down to Santa Cruz. Fantastic rates + rock-solid vehicles = a Winner!
