Once you step off a plane and into a terminal at McCarren Airport International (LAS), you know immediately you are in the heart of the transport hub for the City of Las Vegas. LAS hosts over 100 gates at two terminals. With over 1,300 slot machines on the grounds, the fun begins right away.
Located in the town of Paradise, LAS is less than a mile away from the famous lights of the Las Vegas Strip. But there are also great getaways like the Grand Canyon, and you can benefit from the cheapest car rentals to travel there. At some point, you will probably pull yourself away from the in-house slots (unless you are winning) and want to get to your hotel, business meeting or to sleep (sleep?). LAS offers its passengers a number of options in convenient transportation for getting around the area. There is everything from luxury to cheap car rental. See the many Renter Rated independent agencies that we present on the left side of this page.
Taxi lines move swiftly and stay healthy at all times, ensuring no passenger waits more than a few minutes. The initial charge is $3.30 and a tax of $1.20. After that, it is $2.20 per mile. The average trip to downtown Las Vegas is around $20. Prices may vary over time.
Limousines can be grabbed outside doors 8 to 13. A long trip limo could cost less than a taxi. Book one in advance and your driver will be waiting at baggage claim. Shuttles are also waiting at the same sites as limos. They will run between $4 and $5, but will take longer since they do not leave the airport until all seats are taken. Or go for a luxury rental car to head to the Strip.
Public transportation travels directly downtown or to the Strip. There are only two buses. One uses route 108 to end at the Las Vegas Hilton. The other uses route 109 up the Maryland Parkway. The buses cost $1.25 and only take exact change. A double-decker will take you to the strip for $2. Prices may change over time.
Of course, you can take the easiest route for getting to and from LAS. By renting a cheap car, you can be on your way in minutes, head on a pillow or hand on a slot, in no time at all. These modern, affordable vehicles will make getting around Las Vegas a seamless effort. Check out the great rental values on the left of this page at CarRentalExpress.com
